Scott Heidepriem graduated from the USD Law School in 1980 and has practiced in South Dakota since that time. He has been a past president of SDTLA and a partner in the Sioux Falls firm of Johnson, Heidepriem, Miner, Marlow & Janklow. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of civil litigation. He also holds a masters degree from Harvard University. Heidepriem spent time in the South Dakota Legislature between 1982 and 1992. His practice is confined to litigation. Heidepriem is board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial advocate.

Scott is married and his wife's name is Susan. They have two sons, Peter and Sam. During his spare time, Scott enjoys books, golf, running, and is active in local politics.
